Authorities say that a teenager charged as an adult for a bathroom shooting at a Montgomery high school earlier this year will spend time behind bars and participate in a youth offender program. Steven Alston, Jr., 18, has been sentenced to 40 years in prison with all but 18 years suspended and five years of post-release probation after admitting earlier this month to the January 2022 shooting of DeAndre Thomas, then 15, at Magruder High School. A teenager has pleaded guilty to attempted first-degree murder after shooting a fellow student with a manufactured ghost gun in a Maryland high school bathroom, officials announce. Steven Alston Jr., 18 was 17-years-old when he shot a 15-year-old student on Jan. 21, 2022 inside of a bathroom at Magruder High School, according to the Montgomery County State's Attorney's Office.
