New reports of indecent exposure and conduct along the Sligo Creek Trail in Montgomery County are being probed by police, officials say. On Friday afternoon, the Takoma Park Police issued a new advisory as they continue their attempts to locate a man who has terrorized several women while sporting a Disney-themed bucket hat on multiple occasions. The incidents were reported between Sunday, July 14 and Saturday, Aug. 17 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. on the trail between Carroll and Garland Avenue in Takoma Park. Firearm Buyback To Be Held For The First Time In Baltimore
Baltimore's first firearm buyback event is scheduled to be held next weekend, County officials report. The Baltimore County Police Department and the NAACP, Baltimore County Chapter, in partnership with the Kingdom Worship Center and Brooks Clinton Funeral Service, are jointly hosting the buyback event. The event aims to keep unwanted firearms out of communities and to help prevent criminals from accessing dangerous weapons. Maryland Sheriff's Office Introduces New Tool To Curtail Crime
A sheriff’s office in Maryland has introduced a new way to fight crime in the region. The Calvert County Sheriff’s Office announced that the agency will be installing automated license plate reading (ALPR) cameras in strategic areas around the county to solve and prevent crime. “ALPR cameras help law enforcement investigate crime by providing objective evidence of license plates and vehicle characteristics,” officials said.
