'Marijuana Deal Gone Bad' Could Land Maryland Man Behind Bars For Decades: State's Attorney A 24-year-old Montgomery County man is facing decades in prison after being convicted for the second-degree murder of a man during a botched drug deal, the state's attorney's office announced on Friday. Silver Spring resident Malik Jefferson, was convicted of second-degree murder, use of a firearm in commission of a crime of violence, and robbery, for his role in the death of 22-year-old Jose Osvaldo Genao Romero in Rockville in February 2022.
