Samar Lorenzo Williams was sentenced to 90 years, with all but 40 years suspended, in Carroll County Circuit Court after being convicted on multiple counts related to the distribution of controlled dangerous substances, according to the Carroll County Drug Task Force.
Williams, who prosecutors say used others to distribute drugs to avoid getting caught, was convicted by a jury in January following an extensive investigation by multiple law enforcement agencies.
Prosecutors laid out a case detailing Williams’ operation, which led to his convictions for:
- Conspiracy to distribute cocaine (Jan. 31, 2024);
- Distribution of cocaine (Feb. 16, 2024);
- Conspiracy to distribute cocaine (Feb. 28, 2024);
- Possession with intent to distribute cocaine, fentanyl, and pregabalin (March 7, 2024);
- Possession of amphetamine (March 7, 2024).
The investigation, which started in 2023, culminated with a search warrant execution at the Scenic View Motel in Finksburg, where authorities seized evidence tying Williams to a large-scale drug operation.
Despite his conviction, Williams’ alleged criminal activity didn’t stop. While out on pretrial release, investigators say he continued dealing drugs from his new residence at 22 Roberts Mill Road in Taneytown.
On Dec. 12, 2024, authorities executed another search warrant at his apartment, uncovering more illicit substances. As a result, Williams is facing additional charges, including possession with intent to distribute cocaine and oxycodone.
