Just in time for Halloween, a new survey has been released, and the DMV region is home to some of the country's "spookiest streets." A survey of 3,000 drivers conducted by Volkswagen determined which area roadways are ready for the holidays, headlined by Route 9 in Sleepy Hollow, a New York destination. Police have identified a 57-year-old woman who was killed in a head-on crash when another driver unexpectedly veered into her lane on Wednesday afternoon. Springfield resident Monica Wilson was heading north at around 5 p.m. on Oct. 23 in the 500 block of Largo Center Drive when she was struck by a second driver who was heading south and crossed into the northbound lanes. A multi-vehicle crash involving a tractor-trailer that leaked fuel onto I-270 tied up traffic on Tuesday afternoon in Montgomery County. In advance of the evening commute in Gaithersburg, several northbound lanes were blocked on Oct. 22 when a truck was involved n a multi-vehicle crash that resulted in fuel being spilled onto the roadway.
