"Toxic mushrooms" sent 11 Amish family members – including a 1-year-old – to a hospital on Friday night, Oct. 11, officials say. A beloved "Pop pop" has been identified as a York County man who died from injuries sustained when he slammed into a manure spreader, Pennsylvania State Police told Daily Voice on Thursday, Dec. 14. Lester Carl Stewart, 68, of Fawn Township, was pronounced dead at WellSpan York Hospital at 11:55 p.m. on Dec. 2, as detailed in Coroner Pam Gay's release. Nine people from Chambersburg were in a deadly single-vehicle crash near the Pennsylvania-Maryland Stateline on Sunday, Dec. 4, authorities say. 59-year-old Mary Gordon lost control of her vehicle and crashed her 2018 Dodge Journey into a tree in the 5900 block of Little Cove Rd. at around 1:56 a.m., according to Pennsylvania state police.
