Unattended cooking oil is what officials say ignited a house fire in Waldorf on New Year's Eve. Firefighters found flames shooting out of the roof of the home around 4:15 p.m. on Castletown Court Saturday, Dec. 31, the Waldorf Volunteer Fire Company The homeowner left a pan of oil heating on the stove unattended before the blaze broke out, the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office said in a release.
