Moore, 36, was shot just after 10 p.m. by Davon Dabbs, 20, of Taneytown, after his fiance had showed up with a handgun in an effort to protect him, the county sheriff's office said. The accused killer in the July Fourth roadway shooting used the handgun of a woman trying to protect her fiance to kill him in Carroll County, authorities said in announcing an arrest. Taneytown Mayor Bradley Wantz has accepted Police Chief Jason Etzler's resignation after he was placed on administrative leave for "an intra-departmental personnel matter," according to a new WBAL report.
