Deon Anthony Smith, 47, who had no fixed address, passed away on Dec. 14, nearly two months after the crash, police said. Officers were initially called to the 4300 block of St. Barnabas Road on Oct. 17 to investigate a reported hit-and-run involving a pedestrian in the area.
