Repeat Offenders From DMV Sentenced For Robbery Of Check-Cashing Business In Virginia: Feds
Two men in the DMV who have a lengthy rap sheet in Maryland and Virginia will spend time in prison following the armed robbery of a Chantilly check-cashing business, federal authorities announced this week. In November 2023, Chester Lewis, 49, of Oxon Hill, and Al Gibran Taylor, 42, of Reston walked into the store with the intention of robbing it of cash, which had previously been scoped out by the Maryland resident. A sexual assault suspect is at large in Virginia after allegedly abusing his sleeping victim while armed with a knife in her apartment, according to police officials. An alert was issued by the Fairfax County Police Department in Reston as they continue to investigate an alleged assault on Sunday, Aug. 21 in the 2200 block of Lovedale Lane. Police have identified the 37-year-old ex-con who was killed in a police shootout earlier this week in Fairfax County. Christian Parker, of Reston, had been wanted for firing a gun in a home Sunday and other offenses when police confronted him in the parking lot of the Springfield Mall around 4:30 p.m. Thursday, June 30, county police said.
