Woman Admits To Abusing Animals At Non-Profit Venture In Maryland: Sheriff
An animal abuser will avoid prison time after hoarding dozens of rabbits and other creatures in deplorable conditions in Calvert County. Carol Badart VanWie, of Lusby, pleaded guilty in court to multiple charges involving her violations of animal cruelty laws after she left her pets in inhumane situations at her non-profit Bunny Magic and Wildlife Rabbit Rescue. Prosecutors said that VanWie was found to have housed more than 40 rabbits and other animals in "unsanitary and inhumane conditions" at the non-profit.
