A judge in Calvert County had harsh words for a sexual offender from Prince Frederick who preyed on a minor for years. Jonathan Huffman, 38, was sentenced in Calvert County Circuit Court to 50 years in prison with all but 18 years suspended, for sexually abusing a minor and second-degree rape, authorities announced. At his sentencing, Judge Mark Chandlee described Huffman as "a wolf in sheep's clothing." A man convicted of a grisly murder in Maryland more than two decades ago will stay behind bars after losing his bid to have his sentence reduced. Ancil Tony Hamrick, who was convicted in 2001 of a “brutal Calvert County murder” was convicted by a jury for the murder of Darlene Turney after allegedly breaking in, and attempting to strangle her before stabbing her to death with a knife. Man Sentenced To Decades In Prison For Premeditated Murder Of Woman In Maryland
A Maryland man will spend decades behind bars after being sentenced for the premeditated murder of a woman earlier this year, according to the Calvert County State's Attorney's Office. Lusby resident Travis Benjamin Ridgely, 35, has been sentenced to life in prison suspended to 35 years of active incarceration for the first-degree premeditated murder of 37-year-old Selena Noel Persinger in January.
