Oxon Hill native Derrick Teeter, 23, was sentenced to 84 months in prison for a carjacking in the summer of 2022 after he duped his driver while playing sick before stealing his ride, officials say. Nasrat Ahmad Yar survived a decade in Afghanistan serving alongside the US Army Special Forces only to be taken down by a group of reckless teenagers in DC, police say. A Maryland man was killed after being ordered out of the car by his Lyft driver, authorities announced. At approximately 1:45 a.m. on Sunday, July 24, a group of six friends ordered a Lyft driver to pick them up in Dewey Beach and transport them back to their residence in Bethany Beach, state police in Delaware said.
