One person was killed and a second had to be extricated out of their vehicle following a crash in Prince George's County, according to police. Shortly before 2:40 p.m. on Friday, June 21, officers were called to the area of Old Gunpowder Road and Sinope Way in Beltsville, where there was a reported crash that left one person dead and a second trapped. Three people were hospitalized and a road and a busy ramp had to be shut down to holiday travelers after a trash truck overturned and spilled fuel in Montgomery County. First responders were called to a stretch of I-495 between Connecticut Avenue and Georgia Avenue early in the afternoon on Wednesday where there was a reported crash involving an overturned truck, leading to some lane and ramp closures. A fatal crash is now known to have been caused by a tractor-trailer going the wrong way on Interstate 83 in York County, Pennsylvania, authorities explained late on Monday night. Hendry Tamarez Nunez, 47, of the 800 block of Showell Court, Baltimore, Maryland has been identified as the man who died at the scene of the crash, York County Coroner Pam Gay said. Disaster was averted in Prince George's County when two cars crashed at an area gas station and went up in flames. Shortly before noon on Wednesday, fire crews were called to Sunoco in the 300 block of Washington Boulevard in Laurel, where there were reports of a two-car crash that led to a fire near the gas pumps that led to a fuel spill. Overturned Garbage Truck Causes I-83 HazMat Situation
A garbage truck rollover on I-83 slowed traffic during morning rush hour Wednesday, June 22 in Baltimore County. A HazMat team was called to the northbound side between exits 10 and 13 around 8:58 a.m., county police say. Two people suffered minor injuries.
