Crews Called To Federal US Navy Facility For Office Fire In Maryland
First responders were busy on Sunday morning when a fire broke out at the US Naval Surface Warfare Center in Bethesda. Montgomery County Fire and Rescue crews were called at around 7:45 a.m. on Nov. 17 to the NSWC Caderock building in the 9500 block of Mac Arthur Boulevard, where there was a fire inside the office area of the facility. A multi-vehicle crash involving a tractor-trailer that leaked fuel onto I-270 tied up traffic on Tuesday afternoon in Montgomery County. In advance of the evening commute in Gaithersburg, several northbound lanes were blocked on Oct. 22 when a truck was involved n a multi-vehicle crash that resulted in fuel being spilled onto the roadway. One person was killed and a second had to be extricated out of their vehicle following a crash in Prince George's County, according to police. Shortly before 2:40 p.m. on Friday, June 21, officers were called to the area of Old Gunpowder Road and Sinope Way in Beltsville, where there was a reported crash that left one person dead and a second trapped. Three people were hospitalized and a road and a busy ramp had to be shut down to holiday travelers after a trash truck overturned and spilled fuel in Montgomery County. A fatal crash is now known to have been caused by a tractor-trailer going the wrong way on Interstate 83 in York County, Pennsylvania, authorities explained late on Monday night.
