Raccoon Trapped Near School Tests Positive For Rabies In Prince George's County
A raccoon found between a school and daycare in Prince George’s County Tuesday tested positive for rabies, police confirmed. Officers responded to a report of a raccoon “behaving strangely” near the 5200 block of 43rd Avenue around 4:40 p.m., Hyattsville Police said. The raccoon was between a school, which had just dismissed for the day, and a daycare, which was still open. The Prince George's County State's Attorney's Office announced that a woman who allegedly abused children that were in her care will stay behind bars after her latest court appearance. Weeks into a job working at a Prince George’s County daycare center, 23-year-old Kayla Greenwell, of Oxon Hill, was arrested and fired after videos surfaced of her abusing children in her care, police announced.
