Former US Marine, Police Officer, Sheriff's Sergeant Dies In Maryland A former US Marine and longtime police officer in Maryland died on Thursday, Sept. 1 at the Charlotte Hall Veterans Home, the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office announced. Sgt. George Kramer, who had a lengthy law career in Prince George’s and St. Mary’s counties reportedly passed away peacefully at the Veterans Home, according to Sheriff Tim Cameron.
