A group of teens who allegedly harassed a girl inside a Calvert County middle school for months have been charged with hate crime violations, according to the sheriff's office. Over the weekend, a spokesperson for the agency announced that three 13-year-old students at Plum Point Middle School have been charged as juveniles with harassment and violations of Maryland’s hate crimes statutes. A judge in Calvert County had harsh words for a sexual offender from Prince Frederick who preyed on a minor for years. Jonathan Huffman, 38, was sentenced in Calvert County Circuit Court to 50 years in prison with all but 18 years suspended, for sexually abusing a minor and second-degree rape, authorities announced. A Maryland man will spend years behind bars without the possibility of parole following his sentencing for possession of fentanyl in large quantities, officials announced. A man convicted of a grisly murder in Maryland more than two decades ago will stay behind bars after losing his bid to have his sentence reduced. A Maryland man will spend years behind bars after being busted with crack cocaine by police investigating a separate incident, the Calvert County State’s Attorney announced. A Maryland man is facing life in prison after admitting to killing a woman in cold blood over a financial dispute in January, the state’s attorney’s office announced.
