In a historic move, President Joe Biden announced he is pardoning all of those with prior federal offenses of simple possession of marijuana. The White House announced the marijuana reform on Thursday, Oct. 6 during Biden's visit to an IBM facility in New York, saying he has directed Attorney General Merrick Garland to develop an administrative process to issue certificates of pardon to individuals who are eligible. Police ID Man Killed In Maryland Officer-Involved Shooting Being Investigated With FBI
Police have identified the Germantown man killed in an officer-involved shooting in Montgomery County last month, authorities say. Hamed Ghorouni Delcheh, 35, was fatally shot while a US Marshal attempted to serve him an arrest warrant in the 100 block of Garth Terrace in Gaithersburg, on the morning of Wednesday, July 20, according to the office of the Attorney General. 'Serial Swindler' In Maryland Admits To Duping Three Romantic Partners, Families: AG
A Maryland man with a checkered history will spend at least a decade behind bars for swindling former romantic partners and their families, the state’s Attorney General announced. Frederick County resident Joseph Carlini, 43, of Monrovia, pleaded guilty in Circuit Court to theft and violation of a Securities Order in three cases involving his former paramours. As part of his guilty plea, Carlini is set to be sentenced to 38 years in prison with all but 10 years suspended, followed by five years of supervised probation upon his release.
