At approximately 9:40 a.m. on Thursday, July 14, a spokesperson for the Charles County Sheriff's Office said that a parent contacted Thomas Stone High School advising that a male student walked onto the bus with what could be a weapon.
As a precaution, the bus driver was notified by school administrators, and he stopped in the 4700 block of Crain Highway in White Plains to wait for officers to respond and investigate.
The student was identified and found to have a "splatter gun," according to the sheriff's office. Splatter guns shoot water pellets and bear a resemblance to a real gun, investigators noted.
Following the incident, the Charles County State’s Attorney’s Office was contacted and the student was charged on a Juvenile Offense Report with possession of a dangerous weapon and released to a parent
