Newly Identified Chemical In Drinking Water Could Be Toxic, Study Says
A newly discovered compound in drinking water has raised questions about its potential health risks. The chemical, known as chloronitramide anion (Cl–N–NO₂⁻), was found in all samples from 10 US drinking water systems that use chloramines, according to a study published in the journal Science on Thursday, Nov. 21. Group Stranded On Island Rescued By Montgomery County Crews, State Police Helicopter
First responders in Maryland came to the rescue of a group of swimmers who found themselves in a perilous position on Sunday afternoon, officials say. Ten people were removed from the Potomac River by crews in Montgomery County and Fairfax County after they were stranded on an island and their kayak went rogue and floated downstream. All's well that ends well. Multiple agencies in the DMV region were on hand on Thursday night, when a strange scene involving two vessels played out on the Potomac River, officials say. Lifeguards Save Young Girl's Life At Community Pool In Maryland With Swift CPR
Fast-acting lifeguards are being credited for saving a young girl's life after she stopped breathing at a community pool in Maryland on Monday night. The Anne Arundel County Fire Department received a 911 call at approximately 7:30 p.m. on June 10 from the Whittier Community Pool in Severna Park, where a girl was pulled from the water by on-duty lifeguards and was not breathing.
