Montgomery County Driver Had Expired Learner's Permit In Deadly Head-On Crash: Police
A Montgomery County man involved in a deadly head-on crash in Fall 2022 was indicted by a grand jury on charges alleging that he was distracted and had an expired permit at the time of the collision, police said Tuesday, March 19.
Kelvy Jose, Jr., 22, of Kensington, was arrested on Friday, March 15, on a warrant charging him with criminally negligent manslaughter by vehicle, according to the MCPD.
Jose, Jr. was involved in a collision at the intersection of Randolph Road and Hammonton Place in Silver Spring on Oct. 12, 2022.

Woman Arrested For Robbery, Assault On Metro Bus In Maryland, Police Say
A woman arrested for a robbery and assault on a metro bus in Maryland fought with officers taking her into custody, police said.
Crystal McArthur, 37, is accused of assaulting a woman and stealing her phone “for no apparent reason” while riding a Metro bus near the 7600 block of Wisconsin Ave. in Gaithersburg around 9:25 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 18, according to Montgomery County Police.
McArthur, of Bethesda, then got off the bus and walked away toward Old Georgetown Road, while the victim was taken to a nearby hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Man Charged With Murder After Second Stabbing Victim Dies In Maryland: Police
A man is facing multiple charges - including murder - after being connected to multiple stabbings in Montgomery County, police said.
Scorpio Alexander Standfield, 31, was arrested by members of the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division for two alleged stabbings, including one that was fatal, on Saturday, Sept. 3 on Hungerford Drive in Rockville, according to authorities.
