'Helene Unravels:' Rainy Days Ahead For Some Eastern States After Hurricane
With rescue efforts from Hurricane Helene underway in southern states, showers are expected in northeastern states early this week, forecasters are saying.
The storm made landfall as a Category 4 hurricane last Thursday and left hundreds stranded by flooding and at least 95 people dead in Virginia, Florida, South Carolina, Georgia, North Carolina, and Tennessee, multiple news outlets report.
According to AccuWeather, Helene is expected to "unravel" over some mid-Atlantic and Northeastern states, bringing localized downpours, showers, and clouds through the end of the month.

HP Hood LLC is recalling 96-ounce containers of Lactaid Milk because the product may contain trace amounts of almond, which is not listed on the label.

Apple juice sold at Walmart has been recalled due to high arsenic levels.
The US Food and Drug Administration says 9,535 cases of the company's Great Value brand 100 percent apple juice were sold in six-packs of 8-ounce plastic bottles bearing this expiration date: Best if Used by DEC2824 CT89-6, and a UPC code of 0-78742-29655-5.
According to the FDA, the product contains inorganic arsenic above the action level set in industry guidance (13.2 parts per billion).

Tributes are pouring in for Jane Jordan Solberg, a devoted nursing educator from Howard County who died Sunday, Dec. 31 at the age of 33.
Born in Georgia, Jane graduated from the McDonogh School with honors in 2008, discovering her passion for theater, singing, and dancing along the way, her obituary says.
She went on to pursue a career in nursing and eventually earned an advanced degree during the COVID pandemic.
Upon graduating, Jane taught nursing at several different institutions and was incredibly dedicated to her work.

Maryland Man Wanted In Georgia Found In Pennsylvania, Police Say
A 78-year-old fugitive wanted in Georgia was arrested in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania on March 4, 2023, authorities say.
Gerald Lee Spessard, originally from Hagerstown, Maryland was found in "a suspicious vehicle parked at 1415 Orchard Drive," around 12:25 a.m., Chambersburg police said.
Upon investigation, he was found to have an active felony warrant from Georgia.
Spessard was then arrested and held in the Franklin County Jail, awaiting extradition back to Georgia.
He has also been charged with being an alleged fugitive from justice within Pennsylvania.
