New details have been released after a 16-year-old was killed and a second teen airlifted to the hospital during a midday shooting. Police in Annapolis are still attempting to track down the person who killed Robert Clark in the 1900 block of Copeland Street in late July. Investigators from the Annapolis Police Department were called shortly before 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 27, in the Newton Drive area, when officers on patrol heard gunshots ring out in the area. Investigators from the Annapolis Police Department were called shortly before 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 27, when officers on patrol heard gunshots ring out in the area. Firearm Buyback To Be Held For The First Time In Baltimore
Baltimore's first firearm buyback event is scheduled to be held next weekend, County officials report. The Baltimore County Police Department and the NAACP, Baltimore County Chapter, in partnership with the Kingdom Worship Center and Brooks Clinton Funeral Service, are jointly hosting the buyback event. Maryland Sheriff's Office Introduces New Tool To Curtail Crime
A sheriff’s office in Maryland has introduced a new way to fight crime in the region. The Calvert County Sheriff’s Office announced that the agency will be installing automated license plate reading (ALPR) cameras in strategic areas around the county to solve and prevent crime. “ALPR cameras help law enforcement investigate crime by providing objective evidence of license plates and vehicle characteristics,” officials said.
