Anne Arundel resident David H. Taylor, 27, tried to pull a fast one on Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) Police officers, giving a fake ID during a traffic stop this week as he attempted to avoid being detected.
According to police, at around 6 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon, an officer stopped a Ford Windstar in the southbound lanes of I-95 near Caton Avenue in Baltimore for a registration violation.
During the subsequent stop, the officer attempted to identify the passenger, Taylor, who was not wearing a seatbelt.
Taylor attempted to give a false name and age, police say, but officers were able to identify the Pasadena resident, who was wanted on 12 open warrants for crimes committed in Anne Arundel, Baltimore and Carroll counties.
Officers took Taylor into custody and transported him to the Baltimore Central Booking and Intake Center without incident.
He was charged on the open warrants and now faces additional criminal charges for attempted fraudulent identification.
