At just 26 years-old, the young woman was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia on Friday, April 1st, according to a GoFundMe organized on her behalf. Savannah, described as "loving, loyal and selfless," is now said to be going through intense chemotherapy that is expected to last months.
"The chemotherapy will be extremely taxing on her body, mentally and physically," the GoFundMe reads. "I feel now she needs that love and support more than ever during a time of many unknowns for her and her family."
Savannah's parents, who recently moved to Ocean City, will be staying in Baltimore as their daughter continues to battle the disease. The purpose of the GoFundMe is to help cover their travel expenses, medical bills and other life necessities.
As of Monday, April 18, the campaign raise over $12,500 of its $15,000 goal. You can donate to the campaign by clicking here.
