A deadly fire badly damaged the Viva Dominicus Beach by Wyndham resort in Bayahíbe, Dominican Republic, on Friday, June 19, according to multiple reports.
The beachfront resort sits on the country’s southeastern coast, an area popular with US and international tourists.
Francesca Valentino, a 46-year-old tourist from Caserta, Italy, died after the fire, according to ABC News.

A Northern Virginia family is facing an unimaginable loss after a husband, father, church leader, and community volunteer was killed in a motorcycle crash while traveling near his Chantilly home.
Brian Dan, 44, suffered life-threatening injuries in a crash involving his motorcycle and an SUV shortly after 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 17, at the intersection of Tall Cedars Parkway and South Riding Boulevard, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.

A massive online exposure could put countless accounts at risk.
Cybernews researchers found an unsecured database containing 24 billion records, including usernames, email addresses, plaintext passwords, and login URLs, according to Cybernews.
Cybernews said the exposed Elasticsearch cluster contained more than 8.3 terabytes of data. In plain English, that is enough digital material to fill thousands of movies or millions of documents.
