Mother Admits To Abusing, Neglecting Adopted Children In Maryland: State's Attorney
A Montgomery County mother is facing time in prison and will have to give up her adopted children after admitting to abusing them, the state's attorney's office announced on Friday. Lora Loethen, 55, was convicted of second-degree child abuse and five counts of child neglect after pleading guilty on Thursday following an investigation into dozens of reports and police visits involving her adopted family in Damascus. Three people were injured in a triple shooting reported in Prince George's County, police say. Members of the District Heights and Prince George's County Police departments were called to the 6600 block of Atwood Street to investigate a shooting with several people down. Home Invaders Thwarted By Rifle-Wielding Homeowner In Maryland, Police Say
A group of home invaders picked the wrong person to mess with on Tuesday night after being met by a rifle-wielding homeowner in Anne Arundel County, police say. Officers were called at around 9:30 p.m. on May 28 to the 1400 block of Colony Road in Pasadena, near the White Rocks Marina and Boatyard, where a 21-year-old man reported that he had been followed into his home by several armed suspects.
