A driver was killed in a crash on I-495 early Friday morning after their vehicle collided with a parked tractor-trailer, Maryland State Police said. Troopers from the Forestville Barrack responded to the crash at approximately 3:45 a.m. on Dec. 6, near the Anacostia Freeway. Preliminary investigation revealed that the driver of a Jeep Compass struck the rear trailer of a tractor-trailer parked on the left shoulder of the highway. Some lanes on I-495 were temporarily shut down on Friday afternoon when a tractor-trailer caught fire in Montgomery County. A West Virginia driver has been identified by Maryland State Police investigators as the driver killed in a crash early on Tuesday morning in Frederick County. Daniel Edward Ryan, 41, of Ridgeley, was driving on Raven Rock Road shortly after 7:30 a.m. on July 9, when police say he was involved in a one-vehicle crash involving a tractor-trailer.
