Prince George's County Police Officer Arrested For Vehicle Violation, Suspended: Officials
An off-duty Prince George's County Police officer has been suspended without pay after being arrested last week, authorities announced on Monday morning. Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Police Department charged Police Officer Sierra Alston with unauthorized use of a vehicle and related offenses, police say. The search for a Maryland man wanted for attempted murder in St. Mary's County led to a hit-and-run, police pursuit and three behind bars, according to the sheriff's office. A man has been arrested and charged with multiple counts of murder after a domestic disturbance resulted in a 47-year-old woman dead and a man with traumatic injuries in Anne Arundel County. At approximately 5 p.m. on Aug. 9, officers were called to a building in the unit block of South River South in Edgewater, where there was a reported stabbing with two people suffering from injuries. A Virginia man who crossed over state lines to burglarize at least two Maryland homes in the middle of the day has been apprehended, authorities announced. Manassas native Gregory Jerome Stamps, 65, is facing charges in Montgomery County after being flagged by a Bethesda homeowner who caught him on camera red-handed breaking into an area home. A pilot received an unexpected passenger who allegedly attempted to steal a plane at Martin State Airport in Baltimore County, police confirmed. Maryland State Police troopers received a report at approximately 5:10 p.m. at the airport in Middle River on Friday afternoon, when Joseph Goldman, 43, drove past security and onto airport grounds in an attempt to take the plane.
