A 36-year-old Maryland man who used women's' drug dependency to compel them to participate in commercial sex work for him up and down the East Coast is facing prison time, federal authorities announced. William O’Neil Murray III pleaded guilty on Monday, Aug. 12 to sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion over the course of several months in several states. At least three women were involved. An inmate housed at a Maryland prison was killed after being stabbed to death by another prisoner in his cell, state police say. Motorcyclist Killed In Laurel Crash
A motorcyclist was killed in an overnight crash in Laurel, police said. The unidentified man was heading north on Washington Boulevard on a Suzuki GSX-S750 when it struck a truck turning left near Lynn Buff Court around 4:10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, Howard County police said. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The occupants of the truck were uninjured. The cause of the collision is under investigation. The man who seriously injured a Baltimore Police officer he dragged for several blocks while he was hanging on to his vehicle was handed a harsh sentence, authorities announced on Wednesday.
