Some motorists were held up on Wednesday afternoon in Montgomery County when a dump truck overturned and spilled debris into a busy roadway. Fourth District units were called at around 2 p.m. on Oct. 9 to a stretch of Layhill Road near Norbeck Road, which led to delays for some travelers heading through the area in the area of Aspen Hill. Fatal Crash Kills Two On I-495, Maryland State Police Say
A teenager is among the two killed in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 495 on Saturday, July 13. Quintin Barnes, 37 of Reisterstown, MD, and a passenger 19-year-old Jasmine Jeffries, were riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle north on I-495 "when for reasons unknown, struck the rear of the Dodge," as police stated in the release. New details have been released by Maryland State Police following a fatal hit-and-run crash on I-270 as they continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the early morning incident. Gaithersburg resident Luis Isaac Bran, 17, and 18-year-old Rebeca Gabriela Vasquez Moreno, of El Salvador, were both killed in Montgomery County in a crash on Friday, June 21 that also left their 50-year-old driver hospitalized with undisclosed injuries. Some northbound lanes of I-270 were blocked on Monday afternoon in Montgomery County while crews battled a truck fire. At approximately 12:15 p.m. on Monday, June 10, Montgomery County Fire and Rescue personnel were called to a stretch of the interstate near Montrose Road, where there was a truck fully engulfed in flames.
