Elderly Pedestrian Killed In Anne Arundel County Crash Identified By Police
A 70-year-old man from Baltimore County was killed after being struck by a vehicle on Ritchie Highway in Severna Park, police said. Investigators from the Anne Arundel County Police Department say a 2018 Mazda SUV, driven by 27-year-old Da’Von Tawain Bell of Annapolis, was heading southbound on Ritchie Highway when it struck Barry Stephen White of Gwynn Oak, who was in the roadway. The crash happened around 6:50 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 24, near Whites Road. Emergency responders from the fire department pronounced White dead at the scene. Bell was uninjured in the crash. More than 272,000 Ford vehicles are being recalled because of defective 12-volt batteries that could degrade suddenly, causing power loss and increasing crash risk, officials said. Walter Giovanni Marquez-Aviles, 44, is facing multiple charges after investigators determined that he intentionally rammed his vehicle into his victims.
