A 16-year-old boy from Southeast DC is dead after police say a stolen car taken out of Maryland slammed into a guardrail on I-295 over the weekend, killing him and sending two others running from the scene. Officers from the Metropolitan Police Department responded at approximately 9:06 p.m. on Saturday, July 12, to southbound I-295 just before the Howard Road/Suitland Parkway exit, for a reported single-vehicle crash, MPD announced. A man accused of stabbing himself and six other people in a random attack in Northeast DC, has been arrested and charged, police said. Kevin Steve Andrade, 34, of Southeast DC, is charged with six counts of assault with intent to kill following Thursday’s stabbing spree in the Trinidad neighborhood, according to the Metropolitan Police Department. An ex-con from Washington DC has been convicted of shooting a transgender victim following a sexual act, federal authorities announced. Jerry Tyree, who has previous weapon and drug convictions in Maryland and the District, was found guilty by a Superior Court jury of aggravated assault while armed for shooting his victim in November last year in Northeast DC.
