Crews Called To Federal US Navy Facility For Office Fire In Maryland
First responders were busy on Sunday morning when a fire broke out at the US Naval Surface Warfare Center in Bethesda. Montgomery County Fire and Rescue crews were called at around 7:45 a.m. on Nov. 17 to the NSWC Caderock building in the 9500 block of Mac Arthur Boulevard, where there was a fire inside the office area of the facility. A spokesperson for the agency said that the fire was quickly contained before it could spread further; however there was smoke billowing throughout the area. The high school senior in Maryland who was killed in a crash with a telephone pole in Montgomery County had "high hopes of attending college in the fall," according to her family. Sherwood High School student Sanaa Virtue Vil, 17, has been identified by police as the person killed on Wednesday morning in a single-vehicle crash in Sandy Spring. Nine people - including three children - were injured during a multi-vehicle rush hour crash that temporarily shut down a stretch of I-270 in Montgomery County on Friday afternoon. The man who allegedly drove two gunmen responsible for the fatal shooting of a 20-year-old Capitol Heights man who was found dead after a car crash in Montgomery County has been arrested, police say. Some northbound lanes of I-270 were blocked on Monday afternoon in Montgomery County while crews battled a truck fire. At approximately 12:15 p.m. on Monday, June 10, Montgomery County Fire and Rescue personnel were called to a stretch of the interstate near Montrose Road, where there was a truck fully engulfed in flames.
