A Massachusetts nurse who was apparently heading south for the winter was killed in a five-vehicle chain-reaction crash in Virginia. On the day that she died, Lauren Johnson-Lavender, 69, shared a Facebook photo of her family's vehicle packed and ready for what appears to be a lengthy trip out of Massachusetts. Two Killed, Two Hospitalized In Early Morning Maryland Shooting: State Police
Two people were killed and two others were hospitalized following a shooting early on Saturday morning in Cecil County, according to Maryland State Police. Delaware native Tamir Rasheek Davis, 26, has been identified by investigators as one of two who were fatally shot early on Saturday morning. He was pronounced dead at Christianna Hospital. The second person killed has not been positively identified. The cause and manner of death for both victims is pending the results of an autopsy. The Frederick County Sheriff's Office has identified the officers involved in the shooting of a wanted Pennsylvania fugitive during a barricade situation at a Maryland motel over the weekend. A driver died at the hospital after being involved in a weekend crash with a pick-up truck in Montgomery County, officials say. Isaac Akomanyi has been identified as the Nissan driver who was killed following a crash on Saturday night in Gaithersburg with a 2022 Ram 1500 pick-up. Two people died, and dozens of others sickened in a Listeria outbreak tied to deli meats in several states, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
