Northeast's Major Revolutionary Battlefields Commemorated In New Stamp Series
A new set of stamps honors five pivotal American Revolution battlefields across the Northeast as the US prepares for its 250th anniversary. The U.S. Postal Service has released its "Battlefields of the American Revolution" stamp collection. The series of 15 Forever stamps was unveiled at a dedication ceremony at Minute Man National Historical Park in Concord, Massachusetts, on Wednesday, April 16. Rising sea levels could put hundreds of thousands of homes underwater across the Northeast and mid-Atlantic within 25 years, according to new analysis. Climate Central released its Coastal Flood Risk Across the US study on Wednesday, April 2. Tornado Watch Issued In Parts Of DC, Maryland, Virginia
A Tornado Watch has been issued by the National Weather Service as Tropical Storm Debby continues to batter the DMV region. Storms are expected to continue overnight, with upwards of four inches of rain possibly pouring in parts of the area, leading to increased risk of floods and "tropical downpours" as the storm continues to travel up the East Coast. The risk for flash flooding will continue to increase this evening and into the overnight hours. Rain amounts of 4-8" are possible along & west of the Blue Ridge with 2-4" further east.
