A 25-year-old former high school football player who was critically injured in a shooting in Howard County has died, and a suspect is now facing a murder charge, police announced.
The victim was identified as Tysean Berry, 25, who was pronounced dead at the hospital Friday afternoon, Dec. 19, according to an update released by Howard County police at 8:30 p.m.
Police said the suspect, Christian Kinuthia, 22, of Windsor Mill, is now charged with second-degree murder and first-degree assault. He is being held at the Howard County Detention Center on no bond, police said.

A shocking act of racism at Wootton High School has ignited outrage in the school community, prompting school leaders to postpone a pep rally and vow cultural change.
The incident occurred Monday, Dec. 3, when a Black student discovered a racial slur written on their desk, according to a letter sent to families by Dr. Peter O. Moran, chief of the Office of School Support and Improvement.

The rooftop shooter at former president Donald Trump's campaign rally has been identified by the Federal Bureau of Investigation on Sunday, July 14.
Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20 of Bethel Park, PA, was shot and killed by officials while still on the roof of a manufacturing plant about 130 yards, from the rally according to statements by officials.
Crooks had no criminal record, was a registered Republican, and previously donated to the liberal voter turnout group, Progressive Turnout Project, through ActBlue in January 2021, according to public records.
