Fairfax County Fire and Rescue crews were called after midnight on Monday morning to the 10700 block of Old Colchester Road in Lorton, where there was a reported building fire. It was their fifth call to a working fire in 24 hours, according to the department. Brush Fire Spreads Near Montgomery County Roadway, Crews Battle Flames In Maryland (Developing) Firefighters swarmed a wooded area in Gaithersburg on Wednesday afternoon after a brush fire flared up near a busy intersection and began spreading rapidly through dense vegetation. According to Montgomery County Fire & Rescue spokesperson David Pazos, the first call came in around 3:55 p.m. on March 26, sending multiple units to the scene near Brink Road and Wightman Road. Around 10:30 a.m., first responders were dispatched to the 4700 block of Springmaid Lane in Oxon Hill, where a blaze had erupted and quickly spread across the area.
