A house fire in Prince George's County left two adults dead and forced two others to escape after being alerted by a smoke alarm, officials said. Firefighters responded to a two-story home on the 5500 block of Galloway Drive at approximately 6:43 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 1, in Oxon Hill, according to the Prince George’s County Fire/EMS Department (PGFD). An off-duty Maryland state trooper is being hailed a hero after rushing into a burning Elkton home to save his neighbor’s pets during a garage fire that caused $150,000 in damages, officials say.
