Fire crews in Maryland had to battle both the heat and a two-alarm blaze that tore through a Carroll County church on Thursday afternoon. Firefighters from multiple agencies were called shortly after 3 p.m. on Aug. 1 to the Clearfield Bible Church in Westminster, where a fire broke out and rapidly spread throughout the building, causing devastating damage. A 50-year-old Westminster man has been arrested and charged with the fatal stabbing of Miriam Glowacki in Carroll County over the weekend. Matthew Glowacki has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder in connection to the death of the 45-year-old woman on Saturday, July 27. Two people were injured near the Germantown Library when a Mazda crashed through a fence and came to rest hanging off a wall on Thursday morning. Shortly before 8 a.m., first responders in Montgomery County were called to the 19800 block of Century Boulevard near Commons Drive in Germantown, when a vehicle hopped a curb, went through a guardrail and was "suspended off (an) elevated area wall," according to officials.
