A woman who allegedly ran down a man she was involved in an ongoing relationship with in St. Mary's County during a disagreement is facing murder and other charges following an investigation by Maryland State Police. Simone Stewart, 50, has been arrested in connection to the death of Demeatrum Scarborough, 53, who died on Tuesday, Oct. 8 at Medstar Washington Hospital, one day after she ran him over with a truck. A Maryland State Police helicopter proved critical in rescuing a group of kayakers who became stranded in rough waters in the Potomac River on Sunday afternoon. At around 2:30 p.m. on Oct. 6, Maryland State Police Aviation Command based out of Frederick came to the aid of four kayakers with an assist on the ground from Montgomery County swift water rescue personnel, officials say.
