MTA Metro Subway Stations To Close For Weekend Test Of New System In Maryland
There will be service disruptions for Maryland subway riders this weekend, officials are cautioning. All MTA Metro Subway stations will be closed to allow the organization to test a new Communications Based Train Control system that should be fortuitous for travelers following the closure. Officials said that "the CTBC is a critical piece of infrastructure that will support the new Metro Subway railcars that will begin service in mid-2025." This marks the first test. Teen Accused Of Killing Popular 14-Year-Old At Maryland Metro Station
A 15-year-old teen has been arrested for his alleged role in the fatal shooting of Jasper Davis in a Baltimore Metro station earlier this month. At approximately 8:10 p.m. on Sunday, July 21, officers from the Baltimore Police Department were called to the Mondawin Metro Center in the 2300 block of Liberty Heights Avenue, where they found Davis, 14, and a 19-year-old suffering from gunshot wounds. An 18-year-old wanted in connection to the fatal stabbing of a teen boy on an MTA bus on Wednesday has been charged, according to the Baltimore Police Department. City resident Brandon Lee Adams, Jr. has been arrested and accused of the murder of Cortez Lemon during an altercation on a Mass Transit bus in the 4200 block of Frankford Avenue on Wednesday. The train operator in Maryland who was charged in connection to the fatal crash that killed highly-touted high school football prospect Lamar Patterson has been sentenced, State's Attorney Anne Colt Leitess announced.
