Ten Arrested As Drug Trafficking Operation Broken Up During Bust In Maryland: State's Attorney A drug trafficking organization operating in several locations throughout Baltimore has been broken up following a lengthy investigation into dealing throughout the region. Child Accidentally Sets Maryland Shed Ablaze, Damages Home: Fire Marshal A child who accidentally set a fire inside a Cecil County shed caused thousands of dollars in damage to his family's home, officials say. Late in the afternoon on Friday, Aug. 16, crews from the Singerly Fire Company responded to a home on Hollingsworth Manor in Elkton, where a homeowner reported that their tarp-covered shed was on fire. More than two dozen firefighters were able to quickly knock down the flames and get the fire under control, but not before it caused approximately $25,000 in damage. Teen Convicted Of Killing Dad Visiting Daughter During Lunch Break In Baltimore: AG A teenager in Baltimore has been convicted of killing a 27-year-old father while on his way to visit his young daughter, the Maryland Attorney General's Office announced. Parris Harris, 19, has been found guilty of the first-degree murder of Desmond Gardner in January 2023 following a three-day trial earlier this month.  According to prosecutors, on Jan. 26, 2023, Gardner was ambushed by three people - including Harris - who fired more than 20 shots at him in the 3400 block of Spelman Road in the Cherry Hill neighborhood.
