Man Assaulted Victim With Shotgun, Fired Shot In Air Around Children In Maryland, Sheriff Says The investigation into a reported domestic assault with multiple children inside a Charles County home landed a man behind bars overnight, according to the sheriff's office. Hughesville resident Brandon Wayne Blitch, 38, was arrested on Monday night following the probe into reports of shots fired inside an area home. Officers from the Charles County Sheriff's Office were called at around 7:40 p.m. on Sept. 23 to the 13000 block of Meadow Court in Hughesville to investigate the incident. Officer-Involved Shooting Under Investigation In Charles County: Sheriff (Developing) One person was hospitalized after an officer involved shooting on Thursday afternoon in Charles County, officials say. Shortly after 1 p.m. on Sept. 12, officers were called to the 14000 block of Bassford Road in Hughesville for an investigation. According to the Charles County Sheriff's Office, an armed suspect was shot during the incident and rushed to an area hospital with what were described as "injuries that do not appear to be life-threatening."  No additional details about the shooting have been provided.
