An animal cruelty complaint is being investigated in St. Mary's County after a person in an SUV was spotted tossing several kittens from a vehicle, according to the sheriff's office. Early on Saturday morning, a caller contacted investigators to report the incident, after spotting the suspect in the northbound lanes of Route 242 near the intersection of Route 242 in Morganza. A Maryland man who used to serve as a Department of Defense deputy chief admitted to his role in a violent dogfighting ring that involved him electrocuting animals who lost, federal authorities announced. An officer employed in the Canine Section of the Prince George's County Police Department is facing animal cruelty charge for his alleged mistreatment of Daisy, a 2-year-old bloodhound assigned to him, authorities announced.
