A late-night house fire forced a Harford County family, including two young children, to flee their home, officials said.
The fire ignited around 11:15 p.m. on Saturday, March 1, inside a two-story home in the 3800 block of Hebron Terrace in Abingdon, according to the Maryland State Fire Marshal.
Before the fire, a resident noticed a tripped breaker and reset it, investigators said. Moments later, she smelled smoke and saw flames spreading behind a basement couch.

A Maryland woman is wanted in connection with the overdose death of her estranged husband in Peach Bottom Township, Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania State Police announced on Monday, Nov. 25, 2024.
Troopers were called to a home on the 300 block of Murphy Road on Sept. 26, 2023, where they found 39-year-old Clinton Douglas Hyde deceased. Evidence at the scene suggested the death was drug-related. An autopsy later determined the cause of death to be “mixed-drug toxicity,” police said.
