Upper Marlboro resident Malik Watson, 21, is facing multiple murder charges after being identified as a suspect in connection to the fatal shooting of Craig Rogers II near the Largo Town Center last month.

At approximately 1:10 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 20, members of the Prince George's County Police Department were called to the 1000 block of Largo Center Drive, where they found Rogers in the road suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

The Bowie native was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators say that Watson shot his victim before fleeing the scene. He and Rogers knew each others, they added, though the motive remains under investigation weeks later.

Watson was charged with first- and second-degree murder, as well as other related offenses. He's being held in the custody of the Department of Corrections.

The fatal shooting remains under investigation.
