A Maryland man is facing serious charges after allegedly using social media to solicit and sexually assault a minor in Prince William County, authorities announced. Elias Samuel Vargas Canaviri, 22, of Silver Spring, was arrested on Nov. 20 following an investigation into the reported assault of a victim under 18 in the Manassas area between Oct. 20 and Oct. 21. A 28-year-old Maryland man who accosted and sexually assaulted a woman during an a harrowing drive in Virginia is behind bars, police say. Hyattsville resident Brayan Anthony Acevedo was arrested overnight in Prince William County following a reported incident where he abused a woman and refused to let her get out of his car.
