Kodi James Harrison, 30, of Walkersville, was arrested and charged with 45 counts of possession of child pornography following a months-long, according to the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office.

The investigation began in January when detectives received four tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) regarding the presence of child sexual abuse material linked to multiple accounts.

Detectives obtained warrants for those accounts and found approximately three dozen illicit files, officials said.

Following the discovery, deputies executed a search warrant at Harrison’s home in the 8000 block of Fortune Place, where he was taken into custody and transported to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center.

The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Section is working with the Frederick County Cyber Crimes Task Force to investigate, arrest, and prosecute internet predators.

Sheriff Chuck Jenkins warned that child exploitation crimes are increasing, and his office is working aggressively to catch offenders.

“The general public should be aware of the magnitude of this problem and the volume of cases involving child pornography and child exploitation,” Jenkins said.

“It is a constantly increasing type of serious criminal activity," he continued. "Our ICAC section is aggressively identifying and targeting internet predators while working to protect children and other vulnerable individuals in Frederick County.”
