Would-Be Bank Robber In Maryland Busted After Distressed Teller Makes Emergency Call: Police A quick-thinking teller at a Washington County bank was able to foil an attempted bank robber who was quickly apprehended by police in Hagerstown. Earlier this week, William Manchester III, 39, who has no fixed address, was thwarted by a teller at F&M Trust on West Washington Street after he attempted to rob the branch. Officers from the Hagerstown Police Department were called at around 10 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 7, to investigate a reported robbery in progress.
